Pedestrian Network Along Han-river waterfront

Lab D+H won the international design competition for enhancement of Pedestrian Network along Han river. This plan covers 5.6km long section of the waterfront from Yeouido Han-river Park to Dongjak Station, the confluence of Banpocheon. This project is largely divided into two hierarchies. The first, Pedestrian Pathway focuses on improving the existing pedestrian route for a safe and enriched pedestrian environment, and the second Connecting Nodes are newly-created series of shelters and viewing platforms at the locations where join up to the neighboring urban areas. The Connecting Nodes are conducted in collaboration with 7 design offices, aiming to create unique spaces, and lab D+H plays the role of coordinator.
